Every evening the central park of a municipality buzzes with people running, walking, doing aerobics and bringing children to the playground. But dusk is exactly when Aedes and nuisance mosquitoes feed most. Malee, head of the municipal parks section, often received complaints: "I come to exercise but mosquitoes swarm me and I have to leave," and parents worried about dengue for children playing there.
The park has large trees, a pond and dense shrubs that shelter and breed mosquitoes. The municipality had to keep the park a safe, usable public space for all ages.
The municipality used to spray the park occasionally on complaint, with an old machine covering limited area and coarse droplets that did not drift into shrubs and tree shade where mosquitoes rest. Irregular spraying let them return fast. The municipality needed a machine that sprays widely, reaching shrubs and shaded corners, for routine spraying before residents arrive.
The municipality purchased the SOLO PORT423 ULV backpack mist blower as parks-section equipment to spray around the park, exercise areas, playground, shrubs and pond in late afternoon before residents arrive in the evening.
Before: evening mosquito swarms, complaints, residents avoiding the park, parents worried about dengue.
After: routine pre-evening spraying cut mosquitoes clearly; residents returned to exercise and bring children; the municipality was praised for public-space care; the park came alive again.
"With regular spraying, residents fill the park every evening and no one complains about mosquitoes. One machine truly brought our park back to life." — Municipal Parks Section Head
